We welcome back violinist Ye Jin Min, winner of the 2014 Kendall
National Violin Competition, who will perform a musical recital with
pianist Alexander Yau. Kendall audiences remember Ye Jin Min as a
charismatic and exciting performer who has since continued her studies
and career in the US where she is currently pursuing doctoral studies
at Yale, one of the world’s leading Universities. For her return
recital, Ye Jin is joined by Alexander Yau, one of Australia’s
most gifted pianists and collaborative artist. Alexander is currently
based at New York’s Julliard School and he is in regular demand
as a concerto artist, recitalist and collaborative pianist throughout
Australia and overseas.
The afternoon performance is introduced by philosopher and musician
Goetz Richter with a pre-concert talk at 1 pm. with a discussion on
tone and its philosophical importance.

Phillip Shovk is a laureate
of major international piano competitions including the Sydney
International
Competition, where he was awarded the Hephzibah Menuhin Prize and the
Best
Australian Pianist Prize. He has performed to great acclaim throughout
Europe,
Singapore, New Zealand, China and the USA. He is currently a lecturer
at the
Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where he teaches solo- and ensemble
performance.
